I recently asked a group of seasoned cruisers which speakers they had heard and enjoyed on recent cruises. Here are just a few.

John McCarthy is known as one of the best business speakers around, He can be heard giving talks on cruise ships and around the world. Terry Waite CBE talks about his humanitarian endeavours

Well Known Speakers

Malcolm Nelson may not be as well known as some of the other speakers, however his years as a Customs Officer and his delivery is humorous and concise. He comes highly recommended by many people

Martin Bell OBE, is a British UNICEF Ambassador was very interesting and witty on the cruises he has spoken on.

Graham Gooch OBE DL is a former English cricketer who captained Essex and England. Graham went down a storm on Princess Cruises earlier this year. His talks were very interesting and funny.

Scottish actor James Cosmo (game of thrones) on crown princess in June and entertained his audiences with tales and stories about his life and about the projects he has worked on.

Paul Stickler is a retired policeman. He spoke on Oriana about historical murders. Paul gave a fantastic presentation and is a great speaker.

Ken Vard Oceanic historian, gave a series of talks this year on cruise ship Ventura

Jim Kennedy the retired director of NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre. Totally fascinating talks and a fantastic listen.

Cruise ship Marco Polo had the theme of Great British Sit Com Heroes, and among the speakers were Jeffrey Holland , from Hi Di Hi and the wonderful John Challis and Sue Holderness from Only Fools and Horses.

One person in the audience called Ricky Bastin the ‘Best speaker I’ve heard’ when he gave talks about Concorde and his engineering career with the great aeroplane

Lord Digby Jones was heard on Queen Elizabeth and Geoffrey Archer was ‘brilliant’ when he was speaking on Queen Victoria cruise ship
