My Specialist Subjects

Maritime and Maritime History

Capt. William Wells was the After Dinner speaker at our gala dinner held in the Painted Hall at Greenwich, which ended our international exhibition this year held in London. His most unusual After Dinner speech was worthy of the superb surroundings in which he presented it and rounded off the evening in a most interesting and entertaining manner. Thoroughly recommend Capt. Wells for anyone or any organisation seeking an authoritative and well informed speaker.

We invited Capt. Wells to speak at the end of our week long conference held in Frankfurt, Germany. His was such a different, interesting and entertaining talk which had many of our members discussing it in the bar till the small hours of the night.

Fresenius Medical Care

Captain William Wells was our After Dinner speaker at the International Offshore Exhibition held in Aberdeen and he proved to be a great success with all our international guests. We would recommend him to any organisation seeking an entertaining yet informative After Dinner Speaker.

Kronsberg Maritime

Capt. William Wells has visited our Society for three continuous years and never fails to produce a very worthwhile evening which all our members enjoy. His list of talks and his maritime knowledge is impressive. Recommend.

Cork Literary & Scientific Society

Capt. Wells came to Jersey to address our members and their guests at our annual open luncheon. Dressed in his full Captain's uniform he was very friendly and approachable and showed himself to be a very, very good speaker.

Ladies Literary Club

This is merely a brief token of a much larger thanks for your talk entitled Trinity House: 500 years of Royal Charter which you gave to a full house of over 1200 people. Your talk was so informative and entertaining, plus your in depth knowledge of the history and the many artifacts and works of art contained within Trinity House is impressive. This was a very polished and professional performance and we look forward to welcoming him back again in the future.

Eastbourne Ashridge Circle

Captain Wells gave a professional, lively and excellent presentation to an audience of chartered engineers, managers and their guests. William is one of, if not the best speaker we have had in the sixteen years we have been holding these annual dinners.

Wessex Institute of Technology

Captain William Wells was the first ever Merchant Navy Officer to address our joint clubs and provided us all, ladies included, with an evening of wonderful informative entertainment. Excellent.

The Royal Navy Club

Capt. Wells was invited to be our Guest Speaker at the annual dinner of Business Seminars held in central London. His paper entitled "The Business Admiral" covered all aspects of leadership and man-management. The parallel analogies of running his ocean going ship and us, running our businesses were remarkable similar and gave the attending delegates much to think about. Using Admiral Lord Nelson and his 5 core principles as a role model, William took us back to basics giving a candid and refreshing account of the day to day problems every manager faces. At the same time he challenged us to take a fresh look at our management and leadership skills. This was a well researched, rehearsed and entertainingly presented paper as he had obviously drawn on all of his 49 years experience of being at sea in major management and leadership roles.

Seminars UK

We were delighted to have on board the QE2 for her last cruise, a regular speaker aboard all our ships, Capt. William Wells as our Principal Guest Speaker. Capt. Wells is a proven accomplished, informative and experienced speaker capable of keeping his audiences' attention throughout his series of shipboard lectures. Not only was he a great asset to have aboard the nostalgic and final cruise of one of the world's greatest and best loved ships, but we also invited him back to speak on the maiden voyage of the QE2's replacement: the new Queen Elizabeth, there he was once again a great success.
