Graham established his leadership consulting company in 2009, in partnership with Gavin Hastings OBE, in order to build on his experiences and achievements in business, most recently as a co-founder of Winning Scotland Foundation, and to develop an innovative approach to strategy consulting which brings the lessons of leadership in sport and business together in a manner which can deliver sustained performance improvement for clients.
Graham’s two primary goals are to:
A qualified lawyer and chartered accountant; Graham is an experienced international investment banker and a trained mediator. Previously he was a director of Noble Grossart Limited, the Carnegie Sports International Group and a corporate finance partner with Deloitte (in both the UK and USA). Graham graduated magna cum laude from the University of Edinburgh Law School in 1979. He has spoken at many conferences, written frequently in the press and appeared often on TV and radio in the UK and USA.
His involvement in sport extends to a personal level, as his two daughters are both International golfers. Twenty year-old Rebecca is a two time Academic All-American, majoring in business while attending the University of Tennessee on a golf scholarship; while Sally (18) is a freshman at Stanford University. Sally was also a member of the 2008 GB&I Curtis Cup team and the 2009 PING European Junior Solheim Cup team.
Graham offers audiences an insight into why elite athletes are able to deliver and sustain high performance, even when under the greatest of competitive pressures and shows how we can apply the lessons of elite sport to a business environment to allow leaders at all levels of an organisation to achieve higher performance. His presentations are filled with a mix of inspirational and motivational stories from business and sport.
